On February 18, 1955, Isabel Preysler was born into a very wealthy family in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines. Her mother Maria managed a real estate company in Manila, and her father Carlos Preysler worked as an executive director for Philippines Airlines.

She was the third of six children. Isabel had a very comfortable childhood and was never without any luxuries.
