Skylar Astin on September 23, 1987, to parents Barry Lipstein (father) and Meryl Lipstein (mother), in New York City. Talking about his father was an executive in a clothing company. He has three siblings named Jace, Milan, and Brielle.

Skylar enjoyed playing sports and had a typical childhood. He enjoyed playing basketball and was additionally a member of his school’s basketball squad.

Besides, his mother loved drama, but his family had no history in the entertainment industry. Likewise, at times she used to take Skylar with her when she went to the theater.

When he was younger, he saw a few “Broadway” plays, which sparked his passion for performing. However, during those days, he had no intention of turning it into a career.

In the Broadway and Off-Broadway versions of “Spring Awakening,” Skylar was featured as “Georg.” Up until 2008, he continued to be involved with it and went on stage with the play’s cast in various locations around the nation.

While completing his schooling, he also gave auditions for several TV and film. He made his cinematic debut in 2008 after landing the role of “Rand Posin: in the comedy titled “Hamlet 2.” However, the movie struggled at the box office.
